DATES & VENUES FOR 2024:
Swan Valley Dressage Association are lucky enough to have secured Dressage 24 (previously known as Swan Valley Equestrian Park) for our 2024 dates. The venue offers a wonderful calm atmosphere, fully fenced warm and competition arena, day yards, and shaded parking. Warm up is beside the competition arena offering a positive experience for horses and riders. Additional dates are scheduled for the State Equestrian Centre Indoor Arena over winter.

Sunday 5th May – Members Only Competition, Dressage 24 Baskerville
Sunday 2nd June – Training and Protocol Tests, Indoor Arena State Equestrian Centre
Friday 28th June - Morning Training and Protocol Tests, Dressage 24 Baskerville
Saturday 20th July – Training and Protocol Tests, Dressage 24 Baskerville
Friday 9th August - Morning Training and Protocol Tests, Dressage 24 Baskerville
Sunday 18th August – Training and Protocol Tests, Indoor Arena, State Equestrian Centre
Saturday 7th September – Training and Protocol Tests, Dressage 24 Baskerville
Sunday 6th October – Training and Protocol Tests, Dressage 24 Baskerville

Training and Protocol Days
You choose your Format and Test
The Protocol Test (20 Minutes)
The Protocol test allows the rider to have a semi-coaching session with the Judge. This session is of 20 minutes and the rider can choose to ride a particular test with valuable feedback from the Judge. Or the rider may wish to concentrate on a specific movement i.e. a lateral movement or related movements in a dressage level i.e. circles moving into lateral work; or perhaps counter canter. The rider chooses the format of the Protocol Test.
The Training Test (10 Minutes)
The Training test allows the rider to perform a specific test at their level of competence and have the Judge provide a written test sheet. No additional or verbal feedback.
10 Minute Arena Familiarisation (no Judge)
In this 10 minute session, the rider can ride inside the dressage arena and perform movements of their choosing to allow the horse and rider to become familiar with the arena environment. A good option for young or inexperienced horses or riders who may need a little more time in the ring before greeting a Judge.
Warm-Up Arena Only (no Judge)
Riders may opt to use the warm-up arena only as a way of exposing young or inexperienced horses to their first outing without pressure of heading into the arena.
Members Only Competitions 2024SVDA are extremely proud to provide Members an opportunity to compete twice per year at our 'Members Only' Competitions. These shows are usually held in Autumn and Spring and provide a friendly and supportive environment to test your skills. Our shows feature generous prizes and ribbons, as well as an opportunity to socialise and cheer on fellow Members.
