Training Day Formats
The T&D days have proven to be very successful, to offer a unique experience where you can give your horse (and yourself) a chance to ride at varied venues in a non-competitive environment.
A T&D day involves you learning an assigned test. then riding your test, and afterwards approach the judge for any feedback. Often with time permitting, you can re-ride parts of your test with your newly acquired knowledge under the guidance of the judge, to work on movements or positions to improve.
SVDA invites many top judges to our training days, so it is a good opportunity to ride under a new judge or perhaps one you have seen at competitions.
- Riders can register for up to 3 tests per day
- Riders can register for up to 2 protocol sessions per day
- Ground fees per horse per day apply
An email will be sent prior to Training Day to club members, to nominate for the forthcoming draw. Enrollment is completed via Nominate website.
Riders are given 15 mins per selected time slot. In this time you ride the test and the judge will score the test. Then the judge will then give you feedback on how you went and where they see you may improve.
Members Only Competitions
Off the back of feedback from our 2021 members, SVDA will offer 2 Members Only Competitions throughout the year (May and November). These competitions will provide members an opportunity to perform their tests in a competition environment without the stress of an official show. Each show will provide 2 tests per level (Prep to PSG) with Championship prizes up for grabs.
Riders are encouraged to plait and wear formal attire. Sponsors are already on board and we look forward to presenting the swag of prizes on offer!
Helper Roster - 2022
All riding members are required to complete one helper duty in the year, to assist in the running of SVDA.
Without this participation we are unable to run our events.
We have introduced a $50.00 refundable helper fee for each member. This fee is paid at the start of the year and on completion of your helper duty during the year at one of our Training and development days you will be refunded the $50.00. If you would like to forfeit the $50.00 or do not attend your allocated duty during the year the $50.00 is retained by the club.
Remember, SVDA is also run by riding members, for members! Please assist us by ensuring you are available for your helper duty. If you are unable to complete due to unforeseen circumstances, then let us know as early as possible!
