History of SVDA
Dressage is a sport with its foundations in antiquity; an ancient tradition that has not only survived but flourished in a world that changes immeasurably from one decade to the next.
In 2007 a group of riders decided that if their sport was to thrive in Western Australia it needed more high quality competitions and constructive training opportunities. Their goal of facilitating this while providing plenty of chances to socialize has been realized with the formation of The Swan Valley Dressage Association.
The Association aims to raise the profile of dressage by attracting quality sponsors and showcasing the sport in a way that benefits both riders and business. The Swan Valley has become famous for its wines, produce and hospitality. The Association joins the elements of this great Valley lifestyle to the beautiful and ancient sport of dressage to create a series of events that are truly unique.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to support and develop the sport of Dressage, encourage excellence and raise its profile throughout Western Australia. The welfare of the horse will be considered paramount at all times.
