Does three into one go? Absolutely!
3 competitions were held on Sunday 27th September 09 at the beautiful Brookleigh Estate by the Swan Valley Dressage Assoc; a Dressage Competition from Preliminary level through to Grand Prix; a Young Dressage Horse National Qualifier and the inaugural WA Young Mare Challenge.
The pace of the day kept the excitement flowing for competitors and spectators alike, with Judges Michael Schmidt from Germany, Hannie Byrne, Wendy Barker, Michelle James, Chris Hope and Yvonne Ong, concentrating very hard and thoroughly enjoying themselves with such good competition.
With the backing of great sponsors for each competition, the winners received beautiful trophies, woolen rugs and generous gift vouchers.
"Just a quick email to say a HUGE thank you to the organisers of this event run yesterday. I had a wonderful time and it was so nice to compete at such a friendly atmosphere.....and a wonderful venue!" Lucy Lowe

2009 WA Young Mare Challenge
Judges: Michelle James & Michael Schmidt

2009 Winner: Bluefields Fürstin Reveal.
Owner: Tyanna Lawless Breeder: Bluefields Warmblood Stud
"In the name of SVDA and HBC Horse Breeding Consultancy we like to thank you for supporting our first young mare challenge. It was great to see such quality breeding in WA. Congratulations to all of you for your achievements.
With great honour and pride, I congratulate Tyana Lawless and Bluefields Fürstin Reveal as the winner of the naugural WA Young Mare Challenge 2009.
It was very exciting to witness that the runner up and the 3rd placed mares were both "half bloods" which does prove the importance of a TB in a Warmblood pedigree.
Michael Schmidt was impressed with the breeding progress made with the combination of improved mare quality and top Warmblood genes.
We would like this event to be an annual showcase in the WA Warmblood breeding scene. In addition, we are now working towards our very first WA foal championship, hopefully at the beginning of 2010, and it would be wonderful to see a few of these excellent mares with a very nice foal at foot, taking part in the event.
